I’m not usually one to talk about my daughter’s medical issues in much detail, or very often, but be warned. She’s in pretty good health, and occasionally gets ill, but last week took the cake. Her tummy must have hurt so bad, because she caught a bug somewhere that gave her “the squirts” as my dad likes to call it.
It was really hard to deal with, because she normally only has one dirty diaper, and the rest are wet diapers during each day, but it has at least 4-6 dirties a day. I figured it would subside after a few days, but it didn’t, so today I made a trip to the doctor. I normally do research about an ailment, and then assess the need for medical treatment. I kept her well hydrated, and made sure to feed her often, but it just wouldn’t go away, so we made the trip, and got an answer that will hopefully solve her problem.
Apparently, as per the doctor, sometimes when a virus gets into the intestine, the lining of the intestine, which holds the enzymes to digest milk can get stripped, I guess because the virus is eating it? Basically, it amounts to temporary lactose intolerance. I’m not really sure why the lining gets stripped, even though I think he told me. Anyway, he told me just to keep her away from dairy stuff that has lactose in it, and once the lining grows back, and the enzymes that break down lactose should come back as well. I hope that’s the case, and in the mean time, we are just going to stay away from any and all dairy until she no longer is having problems. We will know soon enough!
Anyway, I know I promised a video of me at the grocery store, but that didn’t turn out so well. I’m working on another video that I will post soon. Also, don’t forget to take the time to enter the contest to win the book and Heloise pamphlets. See you soon!

I just called and left you a message! I have another, all natural, safe solution to help get her tummy back to working well. Probiotics. We had the same problem with EJ. It just never occurred to our pedi. to tell us about them. After doing some research and a second trip to the doctor to ask about it she went “oh ya!” like it was some great idea she just had. Arrg. But I digress. It’s like giving them super charged yogurt. And just as safe. It helps restore the natural flora in the intestines. Great fir adults too if we get sick. Call me later and I’ll tell you more. And if any of your readers want to know more also please fell free to have them contact me by email.
Smiles!!!!
