Since my last post, I’ve been very busy. With a teething child, things go from easy going to insanely busy, to the tune of a split second. Right now baby is sweetly napping, after having a hearty breakfast. Since she’s been teething, the appetite comes and goes, especially when I forget to give her the teething tablets.
I’ve found some really great noodles at the grocery store from Barilla, and they are not the regular noodles, but I think they have the addition of plus in the name. My daughter loves noodles, and no matter how she feels, she will always down some pasta noodles.
The thing about these particular noodles is that they have additional nutrients that aren’t found in most other types of past noodles. Believe me, I’ve stood in the grocery store comparing just about every package of noodles. I’m weird like that; I’m pretty sure the people in the grocery store could attest to that.
My reasoning behind it is that my daughter can be picky at times, and if there is anything on her plate that resembles a noodle on her dish, then everything else goes out the window…or on the floor, so if the food she actually gets in her body is packed with nutrients, then it’s not all a loss.
Yes, these particular noodles cost a little extra, but pennies compared to the thought of your child not getting enough nourishment from the little food eaten.
Ok, so that’s that. Now onto the eggs. I like hard boiled eggs, and so does my daughter, but I don’t cook them in the normal boiled style. Steaming my eggs has changed my life! Actually, it’s really easy, and is less likely to cause any food poisoning in the process. The article on steam cooking an egg is good, except for the last step of cooling the egg. Read the article on food poisoning for good tips on how to properly and safely cool your eggs.
I love cooking my eggs this way because I love how soft and custard-like the yolk ends up. YUM!
Anyway, I had to get those things off my chest, because I’ve been thinking about noodles and eggs a lot.
What about your little one, do they gobble up pasta and eggs too? How do you like your eggs?
Have a great weekend, and be sure to check out The Jensen Project tonight!
