An adventure and opportunity that doesn’t just come around everyday is what I was lucky enough to partake in this passed Saturday November 14th and part of Sunday. TheMotherhood, in conjunction with SeaWorld San Antonio hosted a handful of mommy bloggers and swept us off our feet. I have to admit I had butterflies thinking about what the other moms would be like….would they be nice, or anything else I hadn’t thought of? I mean, I had never even heard of TheMotherhood before I got the invite, and I was wondering if it was all part of some elaborate scheme or reality show or something…you never know these days!
Anyway, once I got passed the whole thought that this was too good to be true, I started to worry about how in the world my daughter would ever get through being without her mother for the weekend, let alone a few hours! You could imagine how I felt leaving my 6 month old daughter alone with daddy for the whole weekend, but the wonderful ladies working with SeaWorld and TheMotherhood finally put my mind at ease and offered a solution. With daddy and baby in tow, we were off to San Antonio where I would embark upon “A Walk on the WildSide.”
Upon my arrival, I was running late, and didn’t have my maps handy, so I ended up parked in the wrong parking lot, and was afraid everyone started without me. I rushed up toward the front gates and saw no other moms carry overnight bags or sleeping bags, so I was getting worried. Finally, I found another lady making a mad dash in the direction I was headed, so I pulled her aside and we tried to figure out where where supposed to meet up. Joy is an amazing woman and is so laid back and easy to talk to, so we hit it off instantly.
Once we finally figured out where we were supposed to be, we started meeting all the other mom bloggers that were invited to the event. Once everyone arrived, we had the chance to start a circle and introduce ourselves. If you’d like to get to know the moms that like to get wild, I mean, that took “A Walk on the WildSide,” check them out:

Anyhow, I can’t believe I had such an incredible opportunity to go on this adventure; I needed some away time, you know, just a break from taking care of baby. Sometimes a mom just needs that, and from talking to the other ladies, they also needed a break, so I was in good company and able to get reassurance and advice on being a mama. There aren’t many words I can find to describe our experience, so check out the video I made from footage (on my Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black) that I got just before the trip) of our late night walk on the WildSide:
I felt like a giddy school girl the whole time! I hope no one thought that I was a completely insane person or totally immature.
The only thing that I was upset about during the entire time in San Antonio was that I didn’t get more time to spend with my fellow bloggers. All the worries I had before magically disappeared and were replaced with nothing but positive energy, smiles, and tons of good times. Do me a favor and follow them, add them to your feeds, or whatever you do to keep up, because they are some pretty spectacular moms and bloggers and each have a valuable and unique perspective on motherhood and everything in between.
Thank you fellow hotties for making the weekend one to always remember and of course, thanks to TheMotherhood and SeaWorld for making us feel at home and informing us about all that SeaWorld has to offer besides a cool place to go, so that we could share what we learned with our families and our readers.
Additionally, there was a call-in radio show earlier in the week where you can learn even more and learn some techniques that the animal trainers use to apply on humans, so if you’re interested, go check it out!
You can also see some more pictures taken by the lovely Emily and Colleen with their cool cameras…looking for more pictures so if you have them, please share them!
Furthermore, stay tuned for more treats that Halemom.com will be rolling out this weekend, and don’t forget to stay hearty and hale, not soggy and stale…of course being soggy is ok when you’re at Sea World. LOL!
Have a GREAT weekend!

Erica,
I love your video! Did it take long to assemble your footage? Most of my video footage was black (decent audio but just not enough light to see anything). The best stuff I got was of the dolphins (you can see it all here: http://www.youtube.com/colleenpence). Great job! It was lovely meeting you. I hope to see you again very soon.
Erica – I can’t believe that was your first video. It is an *amazing* storyline of our wild adventure! What editing software did you use? It’s making me wish I had brought my Flip with me. It was wonderful meeting you. I’m enjoying getting to know you a little better through your blog. Hope to see you again soon!
LOVED the video. Amazing job, I can’t wait to show it to Chance.
Glad we worked it all out and you could come, really enjoyed having you!
Thanks so much Kami! It took a while, and it was my first video I’ve ever published, but it was worth the time it took to learn how to do the editing and what not.
I loved meeting everyone, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them better, and look forward to meeting with everyone in the future!
